Awareness programme on rainwater harvesting and wat conservation held at Pungro

An awareness programme on Rainwater harvesting and water conservation under the theme “Catch the Rain” was successfully conducted at ADC’s conference hall, Pungro on July 27.

In the programme, the resource person Tsulimew, SDHA, PHED highlighted on the importance of rainwater harvesting, shedding light on the age-old practices in Naga society since time immemorial. He further stated that thought it seems trivial at the moment, the world water reserve is at the brink of depletion and taking this first step today will help in improving water security and ground water recharges across India.

EAC Khongsa, Pauding Disuang, in his concluding remark weighted on the significance of community participation to harness the untapped water potential, marking participation as the focal point of this campaign. The programme was attended by representative from all the concerned organizations and departments.
