Bethel children’s home Tuensang observes ‘Swachhata Hi seva’ (SHS) campaign

The Swachhata Hi seva, (SHS) special campaign for cleanliness drive was held at Bethel Children’s Home Tuensang, on September 22 lead by Throngji Yimkhiung, Superintendent and all the staffs of Bethel children’s home.

The event activities focused on the active participation of the young girls on personal hygiene such as trimming nails, washing hands, cleaning of wardrobes. The children were taught to keep their hands clean by washing regularly with soap and water, ensuring proper sanitization particularly of the frequent touched surfaces, fumigation of premises of clean drinking water and cleaning of storage of tanks, regular cleaning of septic tanks, washing toilets and sanitized surrounding at the Children’s Home.

The children also participated in art and craft activity with children on “best out of waste” and displayed Swachhata messages on the website and through wall paintings.

 

The Superintendent of Bethel Children Home spoke on the single use of plastic and shared about the harmful effects of plastic. To collectively eradicate plastic pollution, the children were encouraged to reduce the use of plastic in the daily lives and be responsible to their surroundings.
