Boxing Association Mokokchung Instills Discipline and Cleanliness Among Young Boxers at Free Coaching Camp

Mokokchung: BAM Organizes Cleanup Drive and Recognizes Sporting Achievements to Nurture Aspiring Boxers

The Boxing Association Mokokchung (BAM) is leaving a lasting impact by promoting discipline and cleanliness among young boxers participating in their ongoing free boxing coaching camp. On Saturday, July 22, approximately forty participants from the senior category (age 13-16 group) willingly took part in a social work initiative led by BAM. They dedicated two hours to thoroughly clean the surroundings of the Multipurpose Sports Complex before beginning their daily coaching sessions.

The primary objective of this initiative was to instill the values of discipline and responsibility in the aspiring boxers, underscoring that a clean environment is the first step towards leading a disciplined life. Bendangtemsu Ozukum, the General Secretary of BAM, emphasized that sports, including boxing, are deeply intertwined with discipline.

BAM President, Lanuakum Imsong, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the volunteers and BAM officials who actively participated in the cleanup drive. He highlighted that the initiative was not only a gesture of gratitude towards the administration for providing the stadium for the coaching camp but also an opportunity to educate the young boxers about the importance of maintaining public property.

During the fourth day of the camp, BAM President Lanuakum Imsong took the opportunity to recognize the outstanding achievements of the Wushu Association Mokokchung (WAM). The association excelled in the 2022 Edition of the Nagaland Olympic Games held at IG Stadium, Kohima. Certificates of recognition, signed by NOA President Neiphiu Rio and Secretary General Abu Metha, were bestowed upon WAM’s team members, including coaches and medalists.

Bendangtemsu Ozukum, the BAM General Secretary, utilized the occasion to enlighten the participants about the Nagaland Olympic Games and motivated them to aspire for state-level and national-level competitions in the future.

Mr. Bendangakum, the WAM Team Manager for the 2022 NOG and a technical instructor at the ongoing boxing camp, conveyed his deep appreciation for the act of distributing certificates in front of the young aspiring boxers. He believed that such acts of recognition would serve as an inspiring force for the young athletes in their journey ahead.

The coaching camp also received esteemed visitors, including officials representing the district administration and Col. Rahul Gurung, the CO of 12 Assam Rifles, who extended their support and encouragement to the enthusiastic participants attending the camp.

BAM’s proactive initiative to promote discipline, cleanliness, and recognition of sporting achievements has garnered significant attention and support from the community, inspiring the young talents to excel not only in boxing but also in various aspects of life.
