Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS) has decided to initiate its 1st phase of agitation by shutting down Sao Chang College, Tuensang from Thursday (12th October 2023) in view of non-fulfilment of its demands by the government.

The Chang Students’ Conference had earlier made several demands for ensuring quality education to the students of Sao Chang College, the only government college in the district.

The CWS had written to the Department of Higher Education urging it to consider the genuine issues with urgency. The Conference had later served the department with an ultimatum earlier this month, stating its intentions of holding agitation if its requests were not fulfilled.

CWS informed the Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang on Wednesday of its movement stating, “the Department has failed to give any assurance or to solicit on our views regarding the concerned matter.”
