Dilong Ward won the 6th edition of the Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament 2025, clinching the championship title with a 2-0 win over Sangtemla Ward in the final held on Saturday. The match was played at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung Town.

This historic victory marks Dilong Ward’s first-ever championship title, achieved in their second appearance in a tournament final. Their maiden final came in 2022, where they had to settle for the runners-up position after a defeat to Mongsenbai Ward. This year, however, Dilong made no mistake in sealing the title.

The final began with high intensity as both teams sought early control. Dilong, however, broke the deadlock in the 76th minute through a well-timed strike by Takotuba (Jersey No. 10), who capitalized on a defensive lapse. In stoppage time (90+3’), Temsutoshi (Jersey No. 20) sealed the win for Dilong Ward.

Sangtemla, despite their efforts, were unable to find the back of the net. The side made several substitutions in the second half—introducing several players, but failed to turn the tide.
