Nagaland, once famous for its warm welcomes, now struggles with social isolation. Our vibrant culture, which was once our greatest pride, is being overshadowed by Western influences.
The Hornbill Festival, a celebration of our heritage, has become an opportunity to promote Western culture instead. We’ve adopted Western styles, but not their values. Our young people are abandoning traditional norms to gain independence from their parents.
Nagaland, often called the “Land of Christ,” prioritizes friendships over faith. Church attendance is now a social activity, guided by friendships rather than spiritual leaders.

Brotherhood and sisterhood, once core values of our society, have given way to violence and bloodshed.
It’s as if we’ve forgotten that we only live once.
As we navigate modern changes, it’s time to reflect on our priorities. What kind of society do we want to build? We pray for wisdom, guidance, and peace. May our leaders be just, and our people united in their pursuit of prosperity.
Oh, Lord, bless our land and guide us towards righteousness. Help us remember our roots and build a just and equitable society.
Nagaland stands at a crossroads. Will we continue down the path of violence and division, or will we work towards a brighter future? The choice is ours.
