Domestic helper physically abused on June 7: Changsao Thangjam Setshang condemns incident

The Changsao Thangjam Setshang (Chang Women Organization) has condemned the heinous act committed to Nati Kundang of Kejok Village, a student of Class 9 and a domestic helper by one  Nungshi Tula wife of Ngaku Chollen a resident of Mokokchung town.

In a FIR filed on June 10, in Tuensang Police station, the victim has been reported to have been living with the accused for six years as a domestic helper. On June 7, the accused physically abused the victim.

“The Organization is utterly shocked and aggrieved to learn about the  unfortunate incident in this civilized society amid the entire awareness and sensitization program on the perspective. This kind of savage act was not at all expected from someone of their standard who is regarded in the society,” stated the organisation.

The Office of the Changsao Thangjam Setshang therefore appealed the law enforcing agency to book the culprit under relevant section of the law and not to grant bail in the light of the grievous act.

On record of Zero FIR from Tuensang Police station, a case was registered against the alleged Vide WPS,Mkg case no 0003/24.U/S 323/324 IPC  R/w 75 JJ act. According to official sources, a case has been endorsed for thorough investigation.
