ENPO, ENLU meeting underway at Tuensang

Tuensang: It remains to be seen whether ENLU and the MP will be able to convince ENPO to participate in Lok Sabha polls

The long awaited of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization and Eastern Nagaland Legislature’s Union is currently underway at CKS Hall, Tuensang HQ, with all 20 Eastern Nagaland Legislators Union Members (ENLU) including Rajya Sabha MP along with Ex-parliamentarians of 13th NLA.

The meeting is being convened based on the decision made during the 19th March public meeting at Tuensang HQ, endorsing ENPO to convene another public meeting along with all 20 ENLU members within a week time in consultative and as per the convenience of ENLU members. Today’s meeting was earlier proposed on 19 March however the ENLU members could not attend as they were camping in Delhi to meet the Central leaders.

At today’s meeting all the tribal presidents and general secretaries along with the respective Central Executive Council (CEC) members, talk team executive secretaries, presidents and general secretaries of frontal organisation along with executive members and federating unit presidents, former ENGOA, ENWO and ENSF presidents are attending.

The meeting started with a prayer for unity and guidance from Rev. Achu, Executive Secretary, (CBLT). Programme is being chaired by W. Manwang Konyak, Secretary ENPO.

R. Tsapikiu Sangtam, ENPO president will deliver the welcome note and short speech by ENLU chairman and laying of agendas from house discussion will be done during the said meeting.

It also remains to be seen whether ENLU and the MP will be able to convince the ENPO to participate in the Lok Sabha polls, as the Organization had adopted a resolution to abstain from the State and Central elections.
