The Yanpha Village Council and Yanpha Baptist Church lodged a First Information Report (FIR) on August 25 against one Akhevi, son of Ahovi from Keyazhu ‘B’. Akhevi, identified as a cadre of the NSCN (Khango) faction, has been accused of assaulting and attempting to murder Rhanlamo Kikon, Pastor of Yanpha Baptist Church in Naukhati Town on August 24 around 4:00 Pm.

The FIR claimed that the accused attacked Pastor Rhanlamo Kikon while travelling from Dimapur to Yanpha Village, without provocation. The FIR further mentioned that such intention towards a spiritual leader is highly condemnable.

The complainants have called for immediate action from the authorities, requesting that necessary measures be taken within 24 hours. Failing to take necessary action, the complainants indicated that they will be compelled to take their own course of action.
