The popular Nagaland-based band K3M officially launched their latest music video, Pandemic, at Socials Restro, Wokha on May 31 with Kethosituo Sekhose, Director of Youth Resources and Sports, Nagaland, as the special guest and Dr. N Mhonchan Kithan, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha as the special invitee.
The band explained that the song was conceptualised during this difficult period, following the signing of a stakeholder agreement with the Indian Social Responsibility Network (ISRN). This agreement, supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), JSI India, and the Chief Medical Officer of Wokha, was part of the M-RITE initiative, which aimed to promote COVID-19 vaccination efforts among the youth.
The song addresses themes of loss, fear, and human vulnerability, while offering a message of hope and resilience. K3M dedicated Pandemic to frontline workers and those who have been affected by the pandemic, celebrating their courage and sacrifices throughout the crisis.
In his speech, Kethosituo Sekhose commended K3M’s incredible consistency, noting that the band has remained active for over three decades — a rare achievement even among international acts. He emphasised the importance of persistence in the music industry and praised the progress being made by young people in Nagaland, despite the challenges of limited platforms. Sekhose also reaffirmed his belief in the unifying power of music, describing it as a universal language that transcends borders, caste, and regions.

Dr. N Mhonchan Kithan, Medical Superintendent at Motsuo Memorial District Hospital in Wokha, was also in attendance and spoke highly of K3M’s efforts to promote COVID-19 vaccination awareness. Dr. Kithan acknowledged the band’s international stature, referencing their past performance alongside world-renowned guitarist Jennifer Batten. He also highlighted the therapeutic benefits of music, noting its ability to reduce pain, alleviate anxiety, and improve cognitive functions like memory and attention. He encouraged K3M to continue using their platform to inspire and uplift the younger generation.
The Pandemic music video was officially launched by the Chief Guest at the event and is now available for streaming on K3M’s official YouTube channel.
