New Delhi: Court stays bail till final order is passed on stay application filed by ED

The Delhi High Court today stayed the bail order of Delhi Chief Minister and National Convenor of Aam Admi Party, Arvind Kejriwal, after the Enforcement Directorate challenged the order.

Vacation Judge Niyay Bindu of Rouse Avenue Court had granted bail to Kejriwal on Thursday for a bond of Rs one lakh.

Kejriwal was arrested on 21st March 2024 in connection to the Delhi excise case. On 10th May 2024, he was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court of India in view of the Lok Sabha elections till 1st June 2024. Kejriwal surrendered on 2nd June.

The Court, today, stayed the operation of the bail order till final order is passed on the stay application filed by ED, a Live Law report stated.

“Arguments are heard. I am reserving this order for two three days. Order reserved. Till pronouncement, the operation of the impugned order shall remain stayed,” the Court ordered.
