“…we have a duty to speak up against social injustice. We must not be indifferent to the sufferings of our fellow beings and remain a silent spectator,” added the woman leader.
She asserted that though there isn’t much we can do physically or directly for the Manipur crisis nonetheless she said, Nagas sincerely believe that their earnest prayers will be answered and will be a source of solace and comfort for the brothers and sisters in Manipur be it Meiteis or Kukis.
She appealed to let humanity triumph over the inexplicable atrocities that are rampantly taking place till today and let peace and tranquility return to the land. It is our heartfelt prayer that peace is restored in Manipur, she said.
Meanwhile, in a strong remark by Atoli Sema, President, Central Nagaland Women Association (CNWA) against rape culture in the country or anywhere else, for instance in Manipur recently demanded that the “government should bring in new laws that gives strictest punishment to any rapist of the land”.
Unless such stern laws are put in place or implemented for rapists, the heinous rape culture will continue in the country.
Sema also gave her heartfelt solidarity to the people of Manipur in particular the women section who have been suffering endlessly throughout the conflicts, she prays for peace and harmony in Manipur and also wished that all women will come together to be a peacemaker in the midst of this conflicts.
