The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Nagaland joined the nationwide celebration marking 11 years of the Narendra Modi-led government under the themes “Viksit Bharat Ka Amrit Kaal” and “Seva, Garib Kalyan ke 11 Saal.”
Addressing the media, Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Legislature Party Leader Y Patton described the past 11 years as a “golden era” and a time of Sankalp ki Siddhi (fulfilment of resolve) towards a self-reliant and developed India.
He stressed that Prime Minister Modi’s leadership has not only instilled a new national confidence but has also delivered concrete results. “Before 2014, there was doubt about India’s capacity to transform. Today, people believe transformation is inevitable,” Patton said.
Highlighting the government’s success in poverty alleviation, Patton noted that over 270 million people have been lifted out of poverty. He credited flagship schemes like the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Ujjwala Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat, and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi for placing the poor at the center of policymaking.

Patton also pointed to reduced corruption, and bold policy decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370, the abolition of Triple Talaq, the implementation of GST, and amendments to the Waqf Act as hallmarks of decisive governance.
Tourism and Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Along outlined key national achievements under the Modi government, including India’s emergence as a defense power, significant growth in defense exports, and improved security marked by a 70% reduction in Naxal incidents.
He also spotlighted economic resilience, the rise of digital transactions through UPI, transparency through platforms like GeM, and the success of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), which has transferred ₹44 lakh crore directly to beneficiaries.
On job creation, he praised the flourishing startup ecosystem, while also citing tax relief for the middle class and major strides in the Ease of Doing Business, with India now ranked 63rd globally.
The government’s development thrust in the Northeast was also highlighted, with ₹4.3 lakh crore invested in the region. Along also noted achievements in agriculture, education, and healthcare, including the distribution of ₹3.7 lakh crore under PM Kisan, the construction of the world’s highest railway bridge, and the training of millions through PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
He further lauded initiatives aimed at women’s empowerment, including the Nari Shakti Vandan Act and support for women in defense and STEM fields.
Earlier, in his welcome address, BJP Co-Chief Spokesperson Akum Pongen said the celebration aims to inform citizens of the transformational impact of Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. He emphasized that in the last 11 years, India has seen significant progress in technology, infrastructure, and the economy.
Citing the country’s leap from being the 11th to the 4th largest economy in the world—despite the global economic crisis triggered by COVID-19—Pongen described it as a “masterstroke” of Modi’s leadership.
As part of the event, BJP legislators visited an exhibition showcasing the milestones and achievements of the Modi government over the past 11 years.
