The Indian Dental Association Nagaland State Branch (IDANSB) has announced its withdrawal of services for 24 hours from August 17 to 18 to express its solidarity against the brutal rape and murder of a medical professional in RG Kar Medical college Kolkata.
“As directives received from the IDA Head Office Mumbai dated 16th August 2024, the Indian Dental Association Nagaland State Branch (IDANSB) stands in profound solidarity with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) following the tragic and brutal Incident at RG Kar Medical college Kolkata. The brutal rape and murder of a young postgraduate student of chest medicine on August 9, 2024 has indeed shocked and devastated the medical community and the nation at large,” stated the IDANSB in a press release issued by its President Dr. Limawati Pongen President and Hon State Secretary Dr. Neiphrezo Soriinuo.

In support of the IMA ‘s call for action, the IDANSB has condemned the violence and negligence faced by its Medical fraternity, and affirmed support to the IMA’s decision by withdrawing dental services for 24 hours from August 17 to August 18.
“It is imperative that the entire nation recognizes the gravity of this situation and the pressing need for enhanced protection and respect for all the healthcare workers. We stand united in advocating a safe working environment for all healthcare professionals and pledge to continue supporting efforts to ensure justice and protection for those who dedicate their lives to serving others,” stated the IDANSB.
