Nagaland State Officials, Incubators & StartUps Contributes to Strengthening North-East Startup Ecosystem

A team of Officials, Incubators and Startups from Nagaland recently participated in the “Building Innovation & Startup Ecosystem for North-East: A Peer-learning Workshop” organized by the Directorate of Information Technology, Government of Tripura, in collaboration with NITI Aayog & AIM. The workshop, held from 29 February to 1 March 2024 in Agartala, aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among stakeholders to enhance the innovation and startup ecosystem in the NorthEast region, StartUp Nagaland informed in press release.

The Nagaland team was led by a delegation of Lhoushevikho Lhoushe, Assistant Director – Industries & Commerce, Dr Arenla Aier – Human Resource Development Consultant, Investments and Development Authority of Nagaland, Namang T Chang – Export Promotion Consultant, IDAN, Lezo Putsüre – Director – Educenter Schools of Business, and Loli Ashevi from YouthNet.

The workshop provided a platform on key topics such as policy frameworks, funding opportunities, key strengths and threats of the State in regards to StartUp Ecosystem, capacity building, and collaboration between government, Incubator, Academia, and Industries. Through active engagement and collaboration with stakeholders from across the North East region, the Nagaland team identified areas for collaboration and resource sharing, paving the way for future initiatives to support startups in the state.

The event, “Building Innovation & Startup Ecosystem for North-East: A Peer-learning Workshop”, was led by Chintan Vaishnav, Mission Director, AIM – NITI Aayog along with the State Officials – Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Chief Secretary, GoT, Puneet Agarwal, Principal Secretary, GoT, Kiran Gitte, Secretary, GoT, Dr Naresh Babu N, Director IT, GoT, Himangshu Joshi, Program Director, Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, Govt officials and representatives from Start-ups of North East.

Key highlights of the workshop included insightful discussions on building innovation networks and learning from successful incubator models. The Nagaland team had the opportunity to interact with experienced Government Officials, State Incubators, and StartUp representatives, further strengthening networks and partnerships within the startup ecosystem.

The insights gained from the workshop will guide future endeavors to nurture and support startups in Nagaland. By leveraging collaborative opportunities and sharing best practices, the Nagaland team remains committed to fostering a vibrant startup ecosystem that drives economic growth and innovation within the state.
