The 24th Angetyongpang Assembly Constituency (A/C) Farmers Award 2024 was held today at the Community Hall, Sungkomen Ward, Mokokchung, under the aegis of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP). The award aims to encourage and promote agriculture among farmers in the district.
The Initiative was sponsored by Tongpang Ozukum, Advisor for Water Resources Department (WRD), Government of Nagaland, who also addressed the gathering as the guest speaker. The event was attended by region officials, A/C officials, and unit office bearers, alongside farmers and community leaders.
During his address, Tongpang Ozukum highlighted the need to empower farmers through such initiatives. He lauded their hard work and underscored the role of agriculture in achieving self-sustainability in the state.

In his exhortation, Yangerjungba, Chairman of Sungkomen Ward, emphasized the importance of agriculture as the backbone of the district’s economy and the need to recognize the efforts of farmers.
The presentation of the Farmers Award followed, recognizing outstanding contributions to the agricultural sector by farmers in the constituency.
The program commenced with T. Anungla, President of the Women Organisation of 24th Angetyongpang A/C NDPP, chairing the session. Pastor Matsüng Longkumer of Sungkomen Baptist Church delivered the invocation, followed by a welcome address from Nungshimangyang, President of 24th Angetyongpang A/C NDPP.
