Amid the controversy surrounding the NEET-UG 2024 results and preparations on for the NDA to form the Government later today, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that he will be the voice of the students in the Parliament and strongly raise issues related to their future.

“The youth have expressed confidence in INDIA – INDIA will not allow their voice to be suppressed,” Gandhi posted on X.

Protests have broken out across the country demanding a re-test following the declaration of the NEET-UG 2024 on 4th June, the same date as the declaration of the Lok Sabha elections. Several issues have been flagged on the all India entrance test for admission to undergraduate courses in medical colleges. Around 24 lakh students sat for the exam.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) that conducted the test has repeatedly refuted the allegations of question paper been leaked.

When the result was declared, 67 candidates secured full marks of 720 and come in Rank 1. Further, 6 candidates were from the same exam centre. Students are also questioning grace marks awarded to some.

“The integrity of this exam was not compromised throughout the country,” NTA has maintained.

In a press conference on 8th June 2024, Subodh Kumar Singh, Director General, NTA, stated that the Agency has decided that a high powered committee will analyze the recommendations by the grievance redressal committee and hereby, addressing all the issues again.
