The campaign kick off program for Thejanuo Whuorie, NPP candidate for Ward number 13, Lower Chandmari was held at the Lower Chandmari Waiting Shed on June 14.
Thejanuo Whuorie, in her candidature speech, expressed her commitment towards working for women, widows and single mothers, whether she wins or lose. She also assured to provide free training to the youth in the electrical field and ensure self employment.
Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, MLA, stated that he had chosen NPP candidates from all tribe because Kohima town belongs to all the tribe, religion and caste. He stated that his objective is focused towards the “Vision of inclusiveness and equality”.
Delving on the party’s Book symbol, the MLA stated that it signified knowledge and wisdom. “With that one get confidence,” said Dr. Ato.

With the present government being opposition-less where the MLA is also a part, Dr. Ato assured that if his candidate wins, he will work for the people, towards unity and development. “In the opposition-less government, we have not issued ticket to compete with NDPP but to show support,” said the MLA stating that they will continue to work hand in hand with the government.
On behalf of the colony youth, Nguto Assumi gave a brief speech. The vote of thanks was pronounced by Paokend Sitlhou while Azahto Naga, New Life Church, Kohima earlier blessed the program with an invocation.
