Prof. Ambrish Singh from the Nagaland University’s Dept of Chemistry has been selected as a “Foreign Expert” through an esteemed international foreign expert recruitment project of China to work at the University of Science and Technology, Beijing (USTB), China, in 2025. This prestigious appointment highlights Prof. Singh’s exceptional expertise and contributions to his field and showcases the caliber of talent we have locally. With the potential for joint research ventures and exchange programs, this engagement may lead to further opportunities for students and faculty towards academic collaboration and innovation. He will work on developing and analyzing corrosion inhibitors in the field of materials science for the oil and petroleum industries during his stay there in China.
As part of the recruitment project, backed by the Government of China, all travel, accommodation, living expenses, and expert fees for Prof. Singh are fully covered. This generous support underscores the growing international partnerships within higher education and commitment to fostering global academic exchanges.

According to the NU PRO Peter Ki, this is not the first time that Prof. Singh has been engaged by a foreign university. During June 1–30, 2024, he had served as a Visiting Professor at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan where he actively engaged with PhD and master’s students through lectures and seminars, significantly enhancing their educational experience and expanding their knowledge in chemistry.
