Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed his delight that rock legend Mick Jagger found “joy” in India during his visit to the country.

PM Modi, in a post on X, said made reference to famous songs from The Rolling Stones and said “‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’, but India is a land brimming with seekers, offering solace and ‘Satisfaction’ to all.

Mick Jagger, the front man and founder of one of the most famous rock bands of all times The Rolling Stones, had earlier posted a video of him on X singing “I got to break free from it all, I got to break away from it all” referring to his trip to India.

In the post, he also conveyed his thanks in Hindi saying that he felt very happy to come to India, away from the daily chores.

80-year-old Jagger was reportedly in the ‘City of Joy’ to watch England’s match against Pakistan at the Eden Garden on 11th November that England won by 93 runs. The team however did not qualify for the semifinal of the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.

The visit coincided with the Diwali and Kali Puja which he got to experience in person, as revealed to Times of India.

In an interview to TOI, Mick Jagger also said that the iconic tongue logo of The Rolling Stones was inspired by an image of Kali which he came across in 1969.
