Several college students injured in bus accident near Kigwema village, two in critical condition

A private bus from St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama transporting about 25 students met with an accident  between Vivori Lounge and Dimori cove, near Kigwema village, Kohima today around 2 pm.

Reports indicate that the driver was overtaking and the bus fell about 40 feet off the road. Additional SP and PRO Relo T Aye confirmed that the bus had around 20 students on board.

Some injured students were being treated at the Zakhama military dispensary and later taken to Bethesda Hospital, informed the official.

According to DIPR Nagaland, two are reported to be in serious condition and admitted to ICU. The injured were rushed to the Army Camp Hospital in Jakhama for emergency medical care.

Emergency responders, including members of the Southern Angami Youth Organization (SAYO) and youth volunteers from surrounding villages, were mobilized to assist in the rescue efforts. The district administration, along with personnel from the Khuzama police and traffic police from South Police Kohima, visited the accident site to assess the situation.
