St. Mary’s Cathedral Hr. Sec. School, Lerie, Kohima, recently concluded its annual Sports Week, held from March 12 to 14, 2025. The year’s theme, “Strive, Drive, and Always Thrive,” inspired students to push their limits and strive for excellence.
The Special Guest, Daewon Nongrem, Sports Psychologist, Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE) Kohima, Nagaland, motivated the students emphasizing the importance of being a person of action. He encouraged them to go beyond just dreaming big or watching self-help videos, and instead, learn through action.
The three-day event featured a range of exciting sports and games wherein students showcased their athletic skills, teamwork, and school spirit, making the event a resounding success.

GMS Pfüchama Sports Meet conclude
The three – day sports meet of Government Middle School Pfüchama concluded on the 13th March which was held at Old Ground Pfüchama in Kohima on March 14 where many young students put up their best skills. The three day meet includeincludeed events such as athletics, volleyball, futsal, arm wrestling, tug of war and some recreational games for the primary classes. The athletics event saw a record breaking in long jump set by Neiphrezo Seletsu of class 7 with a mammoth jump of 16.8 feet breaking the earlier record of 16.1 feet set by Kikruneizo Vimero in 2016. The feat and talent of Neiphrezo had deeply stunned and impressed the teachers and the spectators as well. The closing function saw a grand feast and prize distribution where the Head Teacher gave away the prizes to the winners.
