United Nations Day Lecture held at Fazl Ali College

Mokokchung: Dr Sentikumla emphasises on significance of Rule of Law (SDG 16)

The Political Science Association (PSA) of Fazl Ali College commemorated United Nations Day on 30th October 2024, with its Sixth Annual Lecture. Dr. Sentikumla, Assistant Professor of Law at Nagaland University, delivered a keynote address on “Situating Rule of Law in UN Sustainable Development Goals,” informed Information and Publicity Cell, Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.

Dr. Sentikumla traced the origins of the UN and outlined the Development Decade goals. She provided an in-depth explanation of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasising the significance of Rule of Law (SDG 16) in achieving economic, social, and environmental sustainability globally.

Opangalanger Longkumer, Semester 5 and Temjenmerang Imchen, Semester 3 both students of the Political Science honours, shared their experiences and insights from attending the North East India Model United Nations (NEIMUN) 2024. The event, held from 18-20 October 2024 at Don Bosco Institute, Dimapur, focused on UNSC Resolution 2250: “Youth, Peace, and Security.”

Kushemyimjong Chang, Assistant Professor of Political Science, chaired the program.
