VBDAN members call on Nagaland Governor

Members of the Voluntary Blood Donors Association Nagaland (VBDAN) called on Governor of Nagaland, Nand Kishore Yadav, who is also the Chief Patron of VBDAN, at Lok Bhavan, Kohima on April 30.

The Governor commended the members for their noble and life-saving mission, appreciating their sustained efforts in promoting voluntary blood donation across the State. He emphasized that such selfless service plays a vital role in strengthening the healthcare system and saving countless lives.

Highlighting that blood donation is one of the most meaningful acts of humanity, reflecting compassion, solidarity and social responsibility, the Governor encouraged the association to continue its awareness initiatives, particularly among the youth, to foster a culture of regular and voluntary blood donation in Nagaland.

During the interaction, VBDAN members highlighted their ongoing initiatives, including organizing voluntary blood donation drives, awareness campaigns, and building a strong network of committed donors across districts. They also briefed the Governor on the Blood Donors app, which is available for download on the Android app store, they explaining how it facilitates quick access to registered donors, enables real-time coordination during emergencies and helps bridge the gap between blood banks and patients in need.

The Governor appreciated the use of technology in enhancing their outreach and encouraged further innovation to make the system more efficient and accessible.

Notably, the Governor himself is an active blood donor and he shared his personal commitment to the cause, underscoring the importance of leading by example in encouraging more people to participate in voluntary blood donation.
