The Wokha Town Night Carnival officially launched today at the Main Traffic Point – below DC Office, Wokha. The event is jointly organised by the Wokha District Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WDCC&I) and the Wokha Village Youth Organisation (WVYO). The inauguration was graced by Renbomo Ezung, NCS, the Deputy Commissioner of Wokha and Administrator of Wokha Town Council, as the special guest.
In his address, Renbomo Ezung praised the efforts of both organisations for creating a valuable platform for local entrepreneurs and business enthusiasts. He emphasised the importance of fostering new entrepreneurial talent and urged participants to make the most of the opportunity, honing their skills and professionalism. Ezung also called on all stallholders to maintain cleanliness, ensure hygiene, and be community-oriented in their approach, helping to keep Wokha Town pristine.

He encouraged the attendees to reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ, cautioning against the overemphasis on festivities that ignore the deeper meaning of the season. He called for a focus on peace, love, and unity, and urged a responsible approach to enjoyment, particularly discouraging excessive intoxication during the event.
Vungathung C. Murry, President, WDCC&I, also spoke at the event, highlighting the carnival as an opportunity to support local entrepreneurs and offer a platform for them to showcase their products. He noted that the carnival would not only benefit the local business community but would also provide a stage for the youth to display their talents.
A brief speech was also delivered by Chumremo C. Murry, General Secretary of WVYO, followed by guidelines for stallholders from Ponathung Kikon, General Secretary of WDCC&I.
