A coordination meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) conference hall Wokha in preparation for the upcoming national pre-monsoon campaign, Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA). The campaign, scheduled to take place from May 29 to June 19, aims to raise awareness among farmers about improved agricultural technologies and sustainable farming practices.

The meeting, presided over by DC Wokha Vineet Kumar, focused on the strategic planning and execution of VKSA activities across the district. Emphasis was laid on effective inter-departmental coordination to ensure the smooth implementation of the campaign.

Over the course of 12 days, the campaign will cover 108 villages in Wokha district. To achieve this, three teams—each comprising an agricultural scientist—will visit nine villages daily. The initiative is expected to reach approximately 16,200 farmers, providing them with critical information on advanced farming techniques, climate-resilient and natural agricultural methods, as well as government agricultural schemes.

A key highlight of the campaign will be the opportunity for farmers to engage directly with agricultural scientists, fostering knowledge-sharing and addressing ground-level challenges in farming.

The DC underscored the significance of active stakeholder involvement, noting that collective efforts will be vital in achieving the objectives of the VKSA campaign in the district.
