The inaugural session of the 2nd phase of the training program under the theme “Access to Skill Development for Youths of Aspirational Blocks in Nagaland” was held on 27th November 2024, at Town Hall, Thonoknyu, Noklak. The training was organized by the Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Kohima, in partnership with the Zynorique Initiative Society (ZIS).
The program aims to train 30 youths from the Thonoknyu aspirational block.
Principal, ITI Tuensang, Er. Netenba Ajem while delivering his keynote address, acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Department and the Noklak District administration in successfully implementing the program. He emphasized the significance of the initiative in addressing the skill gap, particularly in rural areas, and empowering the youth with the necessary skills to excel in the modern world.
SDO (c) Thonoknyu, Tsiasie Phoji encouraged the participants to make the most of the opportunity to acquire new skills that would benefit their livelihoods. He also expressed his appreciation for the department and the training partner for introducing this pioneering training program in the construction sector, aimed at equipping the youths of Thonoknyu with essential skills.
It is informed that the 1st phase of the training program was launched on 19th November 2024 at Khongsa aspirational block under Kiphire district, which was successfully culminated on 25th November 2024 with TA, REB Kiphire, Sanen giving away the Certificates and Toolkits to the 30 youths who were successfully trained in electrical, masonry works and related construction sector skills and the 3rd phase of the training for 30 youths under Akuhaito aspirational block under Zunheboto District will commence from 3rd December 2024.
