A special workshop commemorating Mother’s Day on the theme “Mother is the Foundation of a Happy Family” was organized at the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Kohima on May 7, bringing together women police personnel for an interactive and reflective session on emotional well-being, self-care, and family harmony.
The programme witnessed the participation of around 60 women police personnel drawn from the Women Police Station, North and South Traffic Control units, and the SP Office.
The keynote address was delivered by Sister Rupa, Director of the Brahma Kumaris Rajyoga Meditation Centre, who spoke extensively on the central role mothers play in shaping peaceful and harmonious families.
She explained that a mother’s stress inevitably touches the entire family, while inner happiness and emotional stability allow her to radiate positive energy and create a healthy family environment.
She emphasized on self-care, emotional well-being and positive thinking, particularly for working mothers in demanding professions such as the police service.

The discussion topics focused on mental self-care practices for mothers, balancing professional and personal life, and daily disciplines and habits that help mothers sustain happiness and harmony at home.
The group discussions generated many meaningful and practical insights, and participants described the session as highly motivating and beneficial.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Kohima appreciated the initiative and shared that he had previously attended Sister Rupa’s lectures, calling them very motivational and impactful. He expressed gratitude for organizing such a meaningful programme for police personnel and underscored the importance of conducting more mental well-being sessions for both male and female staff in the future.
At the conclusion of the workshop, value-based badges carrying moral messages were distributed to all participants. The programme ended on a highly positive note, reinforcing the importance of emotional well-being, self-awareness, and peaceful family relationships.
