The Tirap, Changlang & Longding People’s Forum (TCLPF) has strongly condemned the brutal killing of six Naga men in Kangpokpi district of Manipur, describing the incident as a barbaric assault on humanity and a grave violation of fundamental human rights.
In a press statement, the forum expressed profound grief and deep anguish over what it termed the “brutal, heinous and inhuman killing” of six innocent Naga brothers on June 13, 2026.
The Forum stated that the killings constituted a grave assault on the sanctity of human life and warned that no cause, ideology or circumstance could ever justify such acts of violence against innocent civilians.
TCLPF also expressed serious concern over disturbing reports alleging that Naga women who were held hostage were subjected to inhuman and degrading treatment following the killings. According to the reports cited by the Forum, the women were allegedly forced to consume the flesh of their own brothers.
The Forum said that if these allegations are verified, such acts would represent a shocking violation of human dignity and further deepen the anguish and trauma suffered by the affected families and communities.
The Forum stated that the atrocities have not only inflicted irreparable pain on the bereaved families but have also posed a serious threat to peace, harmony and communal coexistence in the region.
Calling for immediate action, the forum urged both the State and Central Governments to direct the concerned law enforcement agencies to undertake a prompt, impartial, transparent and comprehensive investigation into the incident.

“It is imperative that those responsible for these barbaric acts are swiftly identified, apprehended and brought to justice in accordance with the due process of law,” the statement said.
The TCLPF further called upon the authorities to strengthen law and order mechanisms and ensure adequate measures for the safety, security and protection of all citizens, irrespective of their community or background.
The Forum cautioned that any delay or inaction in addressing such grave incidents would undermine public confidence in the rule of law and the administration of justice.
Expressing solidarity with the affected families, it conveyed its deepest condolences to those who have suffered what it described as an irreparable loss. It prayed for eternal peace for the departed souls and strength, comfort and courage for the bereaved families during this difficult period.
The Forum expressed hope that prompt, transparent and decisive action would be taken to uphold justice, restore public confidence and ensure that such tragic incidents do not recur in the future.
