Technical Session on Census 2027 held at Police Headquarters

A technical session on Census 2027 was held at the Police Headquarters, where a team of Census officials appraised senior police officers on the administrative framework, deployment of personnel, and technological arrangements for the conduct of the Census in Nagaland. The Census team made detailed presentations on the organizational structure, manpower deployment, and digital initiatives being implemented for Census 2027.

Speaking during the session, Dr Kenei Miachieo informed that the Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland, is the Chairman of the State Census Committee, while the Home Commissioner serves as the State Nodal Officer for Census operations.

Highlighting the key features of Digital Census 2027, he stated that the exercise will involve the use of a dedicated mobile application for data collection, high-resolution satellite imagery for mapping, and a real-time monitoring and management system to ensure efficient implementation.

He further informed that over 6,100 Census officials, deployed through 157 Charge Officers, have been engaged to carry out the Census across the State, ensuring complete coverage of all villages and towns.

The session was attended by Vikhosa Chakhesang, IPS, DIG (Admin); Videlalie, IPS, DIG; Teisovise Metha, IPS, DIG; Wati Jamir, NPS, AIG; and other officers and staff of the Police Headquarters.

The Census team comprised Dr Kenei Miachieo, Director of Census Operations, Nagaland; Er Asono Mor, Additional Director, Department of Information Technology and  David Rhutso, Deputy Director, Department of Economics & Statistics. The team made detailed presentations on the organizational structure, manpower deployment, and digital initiatives being implemented for Census 2027.

The session was chaired by Wati Jamir, NPS, AIG, who welcomed the Census team and expressed appreciation for the informative presentation. He also thanked the officials for sharing valuable insights into the preparations for Census 2027.
