ASF restrictions lifted in Signal Angami village

Commissioner of Dimapur, Dr Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, has lifted the restrictions imposed in and around Signal Angami Village following the successful completion of surveillance for African Swine Fever (ASF) and confirmation that no fresh cases have been detected.

According to a circular issued by Deputy Commissioner, the restrictions imposed on May 20, 2026, have been withdrawn with immediate effect based on a report from the Chief Veterinary Officer, Dimapur.

With the order, the ban on the movement, transportation, sale and slaughter of pigs and pork products has been lifted, allowing normal piggery-related activities to resume. However, farmers have been advised to continue observing standard biosecurity measures and follow advisories issued by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services.

The Chief Veterinary Officer has also been directed to continue routine surveillance and report any suspected ASF cases immediately.
