A one-day training programme titled “Igniting Young Minds: A Training Programme on Artificial Intelligence and Multidisciplinary Research” got underway on August 7 at the Multidisciplinary Research Centre (MDRC), Nagaland University, Lumami.

The inaugural programme started with the felicitation of the Chief Guest, Prof JK Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University. It was followed by the welcome address delivered by the Coordinator of MDRC, Prof Ambrish Singh. The programme was chaired by Dr Thejano, and an introduction to MDRC was given by Dr Alka. In the cultural programme that followed there was a solo rap on women safety, and then a group song.

The Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, Prof JK Patnaik, in an inspiring speech, spoke about the importance of education in North East India, and the valuable role of the Multidisciplinary Research Centre (MDRC) in promoting research. He also encouraged students to make use of the SWAYAM platform for learning and skill development.

This was followed by an expert talk by Prof Ambrish Singh on “Artificial Intelligence,” wherein he emphasized the judicious use of AI in real life. His talk was very thought-provoking and informative for the students.
