Advancing its regional technology literacy initiative, instudia conducted an interactive seminar titled “AI as Co-pilot” at Sacred Heart School, Toulazouma, Dimapur, aimed at helping students move beyond passive copy-pasting and use artificial intelligence as an active collaborator in their learning.

The seminar addressed the growing challenge of superficial AI use among students and demonstrated how intelligent tools can make academic learning more engaging, efficient and intellectually rigorous without replacing students’ own effort and understanding.

“Artificial intelligence should expand a student’s curiosity, not replace their effort,” said Daniel Changkija, Director of instudia. He said the initiative aims to help young learners in Nagaland develop authentic digital fluency from an early stage and learn to use emerging technologies to think deeper and work smarter. The practical training was led by resource person Vishal Bardewa, who introduced students to methods of incorporating AI into everyday study practices while maintaining academic integrity.

The session focused on three key areas: mindset transition, workflow optimisation and interactive problem-solving.

Students were encouraged to shift from viewing AI merely as a shortcut for finding answers to using it as a personal tutor capable of explaining complex concepts step-by-step. The seminar also demonstrated how effective prompt frameworks can assist students in brainstorming project ideas, organising study schedules and handling routine tasks, allowing more time for deeper learning.

The session further explored the use of AI as a collaborative debate partner and feedback tool to strengthen writing, logical reasoning and analytical thinking.

“Copy-pasting AI output short-circuits your own learning process,” Bardewa said during the interactive demonstration. “When you treat AI as a co-pilot, you remain in the driver’s seat. It takes care of the repetitive heavy lifting so you can focus on creativity, critical analysis and genuine understanding.”

The seminar concluded with a hands-on question-and-answer session during which students practised framing effective prompts and discussed responsible and ethical technology habits.

The administration and faculty of Sacred Heart School commended the instudia team for conducting the forward-looking session, saying it provided students with practical and future-ready skills for navigating an increasingly AI-driven learning environment.
