DISTRICT/BLOCK LEVEL TRAINING ON BIRTH, DEATH AND CRS CONDUCTED AT LONGKHIM

The department of Economics & Statistics conducted District /Block Level training and Sensitization Program on Registration of Births, Deaths Act and Online Civil Registration System for the CRS Functionaries viz. Registrars of Births and Deaths, VCCs was held on 6th October 2026 at DUDA, Hall Longkhim.

EAC, Longkhim, S. Chingmei in her welcome address, appreciated the Economics and Statistics department for organizing such training which would benefit the grassroot level. Chingmei while emphasizing on Registration of Birth and Death urge the trainees VCCs, Registrars and Aganwadi Workers to senzitise and train properly in grassroot level to obtain Certificates in proper way. She also said that through this opportunity trainees can clarify one’s doubts and learn procedures for proper implementation while performing duty.

The resource person Additional Director, Charles N Kikon while briefing on Births and Deaths Registration procedures said that Birth, Death and Stillbirth and Death is compulsory for registration and how to implement as per the provision of the Act. Registration of Child taken on adoption, childbirth through Surrogacy /ART/IVF/ Techniques, death of missing persons, death in natural calamities and disaster were also briefed about the procedures as per the Act provided. Charles also highlighted on duties of Registrar, Sub-Registrar and Notifier for accurate implementation. He urged the trainees to properly educate the village for registration and obtain certificates as per procedures.

Resource person ESO, Nchimbamneu Newmai briefed on how to fill up the form on Birth & Death Reporting form. Resource person FI, Pursenla spoke on Registration of Births and Deaths in different situation as per the reporting system.

The program was attended by VCCs, Registrars and Anganwadi Workers. The programme was chaired by Tuensang DESO & District Registrar of Births and Deaths, P. Shokum.
