The third Trojans T20 Open Cricket Tournament concluded today with Lizu Naghuto Sporting Association winning the final match against Astra Barry’s Club.

Organised by the Trojans Club, the cricket tournament ran from 8 to 19 December at Zunheboto local ground.

The closing ceremony today was graced by Ghovishe Kiba, 35A/C BJP mandal intending candidate.

While delivering a short speech, Kiba expressed his gratitude to The Zunheboto District Cricket Association for their efforts in organising the tournament. Seeing the many talented sportspersons around, he encouraged the president of the association and his team to organise such tournaments in every season. He said God has given all many talents but it is the lack of practice that prevents people from utilising the talents.

The final match of the tournament was won by Lizu Naghuto Sporting Association over Astra Barry’s Club with three wickets chasing a target of 130 runs in 19.4 overs.

The champions were awarded with a cash price of Rs 60,000 and the runner-up Rs 30,000 along with certificates and trophies.

The Man of the Match was awarded to Vinato Kiba. The highest wicket was claimed by Hika Zhimo (15 wickets) and the Man of the Series was awarded to Nikato Zhimo.

The Best Wicket Keeper was awarded to Viketo Zhimo of Wicket Wizards and the best Discipline Team to Royal Strikers.

Earlier, the closing programme was chaired by Nikato Zhimo, general secretary of Trojans XX Club. A special number was presented by Milo Zhimo. The benediction was pronounced by Vito Achumi, associate pastor of SBCZ.
