Four Projects namely water pump house and Sokhriezie Market at Sokhriezie, laying of the foundation stone of Tsütuo stadium at Rutsagei, Tsütuo irrigation project, Vürie were inaugrated by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio across Kohima on 30 December.

Speaking at the unveiling of the Monolith at Reiphinyü Badze, Rio lauded the initiative taken by the fire and emergency services along with T khel for their work at Sokhriezie park for the benefit of the people and also emphasised that water was life and anything was possible with it with the inauguration of the water pump house.

Sharing that times have changed from early days of farming, Rio shared that modern farming had come into the picture with seasonal crops being available year-round with new technologies.

He also emphasised on the strong measures and policies taken under Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the target to eradicate poverty and stated that overall development had been observed as compared to the past days.

Stating that Nagaland was declared as the most peaceful state among all the 29 states and 9 Union Territories, he urged the youth to work hard in their studies and excel in their works. Taking the example of the much-loved game Futsal which is common among the youths these days, Rio encouraged them to take the sport to greater heights.

Lastly, He shared that Angamis were richly blessed with plentiful resources and lauded their contribution to the government and development.

Tsütuonomia Khel Council President K Neibou Sekhose, in his welcome address, informed that in collaboration with the fire service department the Tsütuo community had constructed a water pump house at Sokhriezie.

Sokhriezie Market had also been constructed which consists of 436 rooms and for sanitation purposes a vehicle had been purchased and 24 people were employed.

With the government taking sports as a priority in the current time and sportsmen excelling in their fields, Sekhose added that a decision to construct a stadium of national and international standards was taken to encourage the youth in bringing glory and honour to the state and the community and henceforth, Belho community had donated the land for the Tsütuo stadium.

Sekhose also informed that the Tsütuo irrigation project, which was inaugurated at Vürie benefits 104 families, and lauded the water resources department for their technical assistance and support provided through the latest technology. He also appreciated the rural development department for financial aid. The project which was estimated to be over 90 lakhs was executed at 60 lakhs.

Kohima village Council, Chairman, Helievi-o Solo, in his exhortation speech stressed on the need for clean election and emphasised that if the people were honest then the elected government would eventually be honest and the public would get maximum benefit.

He also urged the party workers to not mislead the people for a few thousands and encouraged them to prevent the public from malpractices during times of election.

The unveiling of the Monolith at Reiphinyü Badze was followed by a dedication prayer by the senior pastor of Baptist Mission Church, Rev Neikhrienyü C James, and a formal programme at Reiphinyü Badze.

A special number was presented by Thejatshunuo Amelia Sekhose and the vote of thanks by General Secretary, Tsütuonomia Khel Council, Thepfuzakie Suohu.

Kevipfheü Solo and Visasielie Suohu were the comperes of the programme.
