Longpok Semchir Telongjem General Conference held

Mokokchung: NLA Speaker Sharingangin Longkumer attended the second day of the conference

NLA Speaker Sharingangin Longkumer speaking at the Longpok Semchir Telongjem (Longkumer Clan) General Conference in Ungma village on 13 January.

The Longpok Semchir Telongjem (Longkumer Clan) General Conference was held under the theme ‘Lipok Tamendakdak Arangshi’ from 12 to 13 January in Ungma village, Mokokchung.

Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Sharingangin Longkumer attended the second day of the conference.

According to the NLA Speaker, the Longkumer clan has received blessings in a number of fields, including politics and social leadership among others. To this, Longkumer stated that the ancestors of the clan were united and urged the current generation to strive and achieve the same togetherness which, he said, would bring peace and prosperity to society.

He also stressed on the influence of maintaining affable relationships with other clansmen, tribes and the larger world. “Building cordial relationships and bridging unity should be our obligation,” he told the Longkumer clan.

The main speaker, Aochuba, spoke on the topic ‘Lipok Tamendakdak Arangshi’. The greeting message was delivered by Imolemba Jamir, president of Longjakrep Semchir.

During the occasion, Elangstsur, Ungma Longok Semchir Telongjem also sang a special folk song.

The new team of officer bearers chosen are: K Nokmarenba (Longsa) – president; Imnekenba (Longjang) – vice president; Imkongnungba Lkr (Merangkong) – general secretary; Bendangwapang (Worumong) – assistant general secretary; Lanuwapang (Khar) – finance secretary; Amongsang (Longkhum) – assistant finance secretary; and Imotemjen (Chungtia) – treasurer.
