Two persons were arrested on Monday evening following a joint special raid by SDPO (Wokha), Anti-Narcotics Task Force, DEF Wokha and personnel of B/12 IR at Tsumang-A Colony in Wokha in the latest crackdown against drugs in the district.

According to the police, based on special intel report, the operation was carried out the residence of a drug peddler at around 6 pm.

In the process, Amos Rangthung and Abenthung Ezung were arrested, and a number of illegal items were recovered from the place.

The items included a .22 Pistol (Made in China), 1 live round of AK 47 ammo, 1 empty case of AK 47 ammo empty case, 1 gelatine stick, 2 detonators, 12 bottles of IMFL MC Rum (750 ml), 37 plastic containers containing suspected brown sugar (sunflower), 4 packets of plastic container containing suspected brown sugar (pink colour) and cash amounting Rs. 12,700.

The police informed that the investigation is in progress.

Wokha Police reiterated “fly HIGH on dreams and not on Drugs”.
