The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), on Monday, issued a caution to all schools against selling of text books, stationary and uniform items at price higher than printed on the items.
In its statement, NBSE said that it has been made aware of a “few schools” that are involved in such “unethical practices”.
The department has also directed that educational institutions must not coerce students and parents to buy supplies only from them or from particular shops or vendors.
It has warned that “appropriate disciplinary action shall be initiated against School Heads or Management” found violating its directives.
Further, education officers in the districts and sub-districts will be visiting schools under their jurisdictions to ensure strict compliance, the NBSE added.
