BJP supporters from Longsa village under 38th Wokha A/C, Wokha district, on 25 January 2023, showed their support and loyalty to Renponthung Ezung, the intending BJP candidate of the constituency and state executive member of the party.

The supporters organised a marathon walk from Longsa village to the residence of Ezung in Wokha Town, displaying the saffron party colours and shouting slogans such as “Vote for Renponthung”, “Longsa Village Supports Renponthung Ezung”, “Longsa is one and United”, “BJP Zindabad” and “Long Live Narendra Modi”.

The women folks donning Lotha shawls walked in a procession, carrying vegetables and firewood in traditional baskets and singing traditional tunes.

Ezung expressed his gratitude to the people, who came out in hundreds, for their hard work, dedication and support.

The intending BJP candidate assured that if chosen to serve the people, it will not be because of his own credit but because of the support shown by the people.

Sources informed that BJP high command is likely to announce the final seat sharing by tomorrow and that the party’s candidate list will be declared after 2 February.

On 26 January, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio told reporters in Kohima that the seat sharing formula between NDPP and the BJP of 40:20 stands and that there was no disagreement between the two parties.
