Declaration Programme of Major Toshikaba (Retd), NPF Candidate for 28th Koridang A/C, was held at Community Hall, Chungtia, Mokokchung district today.
Major Toshikaba (Retd) from Chungtia Village will be contesting from the Naga People’s Front (NPF) ticket from 28 Koridang AC against BJP candidate Imkong L Imchen.
Addressing the crowd, Major Toshikaba appreciated the people who have come in support of him. Understanding the political surge and looking into the political scenario of the State, he said he have taken his step to serve the people by entering into politics.
He said that 80% of the sitting MLAs in the State Legistlative Assembly are Retired Bureaucrats and 20% belong to NGOs background.
He challenged the Koridang citizens present that they are left with only 21 days for the bigger picture. “A new leadership for better future”, should be pondered upon, said the Major.
He urged the gathering to endure the pain and aim for the future in electing the right leader for the future.
Earlier the program was chaired by Tinu Longchar, invocation was pronounced by Pastor, Chungtia Baptist Church.
Welcome Address was presented by Chairman of Village Council Chungtia and short speeches were delivered from NPF Central, NPF Division, Mokokchung, Khensa Village, Aliba Village, Yimyu ward, Village Mekuli, Kinunger Village, Longjongkong while vote of thanks was given by Chungtia Senso Mungdang
Benediction was pronounced by Pastor, Sabangya Baptist Church.
The four-time MLA from the constituency, Imkong Imchen resigned from Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) in January to join BJP, who later declared him as its 28 Koridang A/C candidate for the 14th Nagaland Assembly election. Imchen filed his nomination on Monday.
