Senior citizens and the differently-abled under 56 Noklak Assembly Constituency (AC) and 57 Thonoknyu AC casted their votes for the Nagaland general election 2023 through the Postal Ballot Form 12D facility from 16 to 17th February.
63 senior citizens and two PWD under 56 Noklak AC, and eight senior citizens under 57 Thonoknyu AC casted their votes.
Speaking to Nagaland Tribune, Heno, icon of Noklak District Differently Abled Person’s Association, while acknowledging the financial assistance of Rs 3000 provided to the Persons with disability (PWD) once a year, expressed grievances of the beneficiaries and stated that it is insufficient and does not meet the needs for the entire year.
Heno said that the expectation from this 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election is for them to take up their concern by raising the financial assistance of beneficiaries.

On the other hand, Thangsoi, Noklak district senior citizen icon advised the younger generation to strictly follow the election code of conduct and practice clean election.
Thangsoi said that senior citizens only looked forward to peace, development and employment for the youths and expressed his appreciation to the election office for the home-to-home postal ballot voting system which made voting convenient and accessible to senior citizens.
