“LJP has no government anywhere in the country and if you bring LJP president in any place of the Northeastern region, he will not be able to go out of the region unless you guide him because he may not have visited once in his life but Prime Minister Modi has visited Northeast after becoming the Prime Minister 51 times,” stated NEDA Convenor.
Sarma also clarified that BJP has no link with other parties particularly LJP party and that if anyone is spreading rumours it is wrong.
If anyone is spreading rumour, that is wrong and I, as a responsible member of BJP, I want to clarify 100% that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s candidate in Pughoboto is Y. Vekheho Swu. He is already a candidate of Rio and he is also a candidate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said.
“If there is any confusion in anybody’s mind, I request that there should not be any confusion, we should not be in any misunderstanding. Prime Minister Modi’s 100% support is with Swu,” added Sarma.

Meanwhile, Sarma also maintained that a very good progress has been made in resolving the Naga Political Solution and that talks are still ongoing however he stated that for the first time a “positive climate” has been created to finally peacefully settle the Naga Political Solution so that the hope, aspirations, and uniqueness of Naga people can be maintained at a bigger landscape.
The NEDA convenor also claimed that after the BJP-NDPP alliance formed the government in 2018 it has been able to give one of the best periods and most stable government to the people of Nagaland in these last 5 years.
We run a government successfully under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and also created a huge political consensus leading to almost no opposition government in Nagaland Assembly. This has happened because of the outstanding leadership quality of Rio, added Sarma.
Further, Sarma asserted that the next government will be formed under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as he is not only the chief ministerial candidate of NDPP but also of BJP. Stating this he also said that it is the desire of the Prime Minister to form the next government in Nagaland under the leadership of Rio so that the alliance partners can continue their good work for the next five years and ultimately bring the much needed development, political solution in the state of Nagaland.
NDPP candidate Y. Vikheho Swu in his brief address expressed his gratitude to the leaders for allotting him the NDPP party ticket and lauded the BJP and NDPP government for providing a stable government to the people of Nagaland.
He also asserted that the continuation of pre poll alliance between the two alliance partners has proven beyond doubt that it will form a stable government for the next 5 years.
Today was the first where the NEDA convenor had addressed three rallies in a day in poll bound Nagaland. He had addressed rallies in Pughoboto, Bhandari in Wokha district and Longtho in Mokokchung district for NDPP and BJP candidates.
