Meanwhile, speaking to some of the victims one said, “Yesterday when the fire broke out, I was home. All of our things have turned to ashes, we are getting the food to eat but I think the government should consider and provide us more than just food, we need a place to stay. My wife is also pregnant and will be delivering this month. Hospitals will also be asking us for producing cards/documents. All of the documents are also burned. The concern authorities are yet to come to check on us.”

While the other said, “We are a joint family. No help has been received yet, we are daily labourers. We found out that fire broke out after we returned from our work.”

Mention may be made that this very locality was burned down in 2013 and 2021 also and it was reconstructed. Majority of the residents are daily wage earners and labourers working in construction sites and others.

The loss of property due to the fire incident was estimated to around one crore.
