A significant consultative meeting pertaining to the proposed closure of the Satellite Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) Centre in Yongnyah Village, located within Longleng District, took place on October 17. The meeting was held at the DC’s Conference Hall in Longleng and was chaired by Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak, EAC Longleng, informed a DIPR report.
The gathering was graced by the presence of individuals, including Dr. Abu Sekhose, Project Director NSACS, and Dr. Bernic, Jt. Director (TI) OST.
Dr. Senilo Magh, MO Psychiatrist and Nodal Officer of PHC Tuensang, delivered a comprehensive presentation on OST and related subjects through informative PowerPoint presentations. The topics covered included OST Psychoactive Substance, Dependence Syndrome, Drug Abuse Management Strategy, Strategy for Drug-Related Harms, Opioid Withdrawal, Philosophy of Agonist Substance, Treatment Phases, and the Effectiveness of OST.
Dr. Banglau, MO of CHC Yongnyah, provided an overview of the current status of the OST center in Yongnyah Village, shedding light on the operational aspects.

Dr. Tiasunep, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Longleng, delivered the keynote address, sharing insights and perspective on the matter at hand. Additionally, Dr. Chai-e Buchem, MO of CHC Tamlu, expressed gratitude and delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the meeting participants.
The important consultative meeting was attended by various stakeholders, including representatives from Yongnyah Village Council, Tangha Village Council, Yongshei Village Council, Phom Students Conference, Phomla Hoichem, as well as DBs and Ward’s representatives.
