The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) is celebrating its 8th Foundation Day today, 17th May 2024.

In a statement, the President of the Party, Chingwang Konyak said that NDPP was established in consonance with the desires of the people of Nagaland to have a change from the existing political parties. “It is with this vision of change that we the founding members decided to start a new political party, regional identity with a global outlook,” he stated.

Congratulating all the members of the NDPP, the Chief Minister and the Legislators on the occasion, Konyak said that NDPP had come as long way as a Political Party in these eight years, but not without challenges, and attributed its success to God and to the loyalty and commitment of the party members including Chief Minister and the NDPP Parliamentary Board.

“The success of the NDPP will also not have been possible without the resounding support and confidence reposed on us by the people of the State and for this we remain ever grateful and indebted to each and every citizen of Nagaland for their unwavering support and help,” the NDPP President added.

Further, Konyak expressed gratitude to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), its alliance partner, “for standing firm in their commitment and support of the alliance despite the numerous challenges faced and it is our firm belief that this partnership will only grow from strength to strength in the days to come.”

Reminding that there are still many challenges and goals to be achieved, Konyak urged all the citizens of Nagaland “to continue their support of the NDPP and the Government and work unitedly in taking Nagaland – Towards a State of Excellence!”

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, in a message posted on X, extended his warm greetings to all rank and file, and well-wishers, of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party on its 8th Foundation Day. “We reaffirm our commitment to serve all sections of the society and honour our mission, vision and goals,” he stated.
