The Department of Zoology, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma (KSCJ) in collaboration with Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) successfully conducted a one day “Awareness Programme on Importance & Scope of Bees, Keeping and Honey in Nagaland cum Exhibition and Poster Presentation”, on September 20, at Bio Block KSCJ.
The Inaugural session was chaired by Katasinliu Remmei, Associate Professor which was followed by welcome address delivered by Dr.Lilongchem Thyug (Associate Professor). Sentiwapang Aier, Additional Secretary to Chief Minister, Transport and Team leader, NBHM shared the vision and scope of NHBM in his inaugural speech and also encouraged students to take it up as a livelihood means in the future. The vote of thanks was pronounced by Dr.AnunglaPongener, HoD Department of Zoology, KSCJ.
Students from several Higher Secondary schools in Kohima came and witnessed the exhibition cum poster presentation which was demonstrated by B.Sc. first semester students in the second technical session, informed a press release by the college.

The third Session was presided by Luiluile Lungalang, Assistant Professor wherein three NBHM team members gave their thematic presentations;
-Beekeeping in Nagaland: An Overview by NeilazanuoTerhuja
-Scope of Bee-keeping in Nagaland by NzanbemoKokon
-Significance of Beekeeping, and Honey by Letgong Parrick
The third session ended with a group discussion, a Q&A session, and closing remark by Prof. Limatemjen who emphasised on the positive take-aways of the programme.
