US keen to invest in Nagaland: Minister Counselor for Public Diplomacy Berbena shares opportunities for educational and cultural exchange programs

Gloria Berbena, Minister Counselor for Public Diplomacy at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, highlighted the U.S. consulate’s eagerness to collaborate on educational and cultural exchange programs, during a media interaction at Hotel Vivor Kohima today.

She also mentioned funding opportunities for NGOs, individuals, and organizations dedicated to researching and documenting cultural and traditional values. Emphasizing on the Fulbright scholarship, which many in the northeast region may not be aware of, she expressed hope that more people from Nagaland will seize this opportunity and participate in cultural and student exchange programs.

“The main objective of partnering with Nagaland is to enhance mutual understanding and knowledge. This collaboration provides a chance to learn, share, and appreciate each other’s cultural values while exploring benefits for both parties,” said Berbena.

She also highlighted that many potential businesses in the US are keen to invest in and establish operations in Nagaland, and they are working to pinpoint areas where they can offer support.

Furthermore, the Minister Counselor also spoke on their active collaboration with institutions to promote cultural and student exchanges, which have garnered positive feedback from participants. She also shared her enthusiasm after meeting the Youth Net team, expressing her delight in discovering the many talents within the Naga community. The significance of these programs in fostering understanding and mutual support was highlighted, where Berbena mentioned that these insights will be shared with her office to explore ways to assist in the growth of entrepreneurs.

She commended Youth Net for their impressive efforts, indicating that they not only support emerging entrepreneurs but also offer valuable networking opportunities and expertise to help them expand their businesses.
