The Wokha District Congress Committee (WDCC) held an important meeting today at the WDCC Office in Wokha with the objective of strengthening the party’s presence in the district.
At the meeting, K. Yisanbemo Kikon, President DCC Wokha, shared insights from the latest DCC President’s meeting held in New Delhi, highlighting significant party policies. He stated that eight district presidents attended from Nagaland, during which the Wokha DCC president highlighted key grievances most notably, the absence of a Congress Bhavan in the district and the need to open a congress office at 39 and 40 A/Cs.
The president stated that they were urged to intensify efforts at the grassroots level, focus on membership enrolment drives, and work collectively to strengthen the party’s foundation.
He stated that the discussion also focused on working from henceforth towards ensuring the party’s success in the upcoming elections.
Party members deliberated on strategies to strengthen the Congress in the district.

Former congress candidate Woben Tungoe urged the party members not to simply wait to enjoy the rewards, but should actively participate by sowing the seeds and nurturing the party’s growth. He encouraged the party to take personal responsibility, address existing shortcomings, and work on increasing enrolment, as many people still support the party and will show their backing if the DCC steps up its efforts. He also urged the members to hold at least one meeting every month and to avoid complacency.
The meeting continued with a group discussion focused on strengthening the party organization within the district.
The DCC concluded that electing a Congress MLA in the next term is a top priority, and efforts toward achieving this goal must begin immediately. It was also emphasized that the party will focus on the youth of the district to strengthening the party.
The meeting was chaired by R. Longshithung Kikon, Vice President of DCC Wokha and concluded with a vote of thanks.
