The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has on Friday announced the suspension of its second phase of agitation (restriction of vehicular movement) in resentment against the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) and the EPC contractor, M/S Ratna Infrastructure Project Pvt. Ltd., for non-compliance with the union’s demand on the execution of works on NH-29 Kohima-Jessami road (Package-II) project.
Despite the suspension, the CSU stated in a release, it will continue to express its strong resentment over the unresolved issues.
“In response, the CSU will launch the 3rd Phase of agitation starting from 17 May 2025, which will include the display of black flags as a symbolic protest against the ongoing negligence and inaction of both the NHIDCL and the EPC contractor,” the release stated.
The union said it will continue its agitation until the demand is fulfilled and remains steadfast in its commitment to public interest, reiterating its call for transparency, accountability, and timely completion of the project.
